BYMK Residency
Our residency program is the foundation’s core platform for cultural immersion and creative experimentation. Hosted twice a year—once in winter and once in summer—the program is tailored to distinct rhythms and needs. Winter residencies focus on solitude, reflection, and slow research in intimate, contemplative settings. Summer residencies emphasize community, collaboration, and field-based making. Artists, writers, designers, and cultural practitioners are invited to develop site-specific works that respond to the nomadic condition, ecological relationships, and cultural transmission. Residencies are closely integrated with our broader brand collaborations, offering participants unique pathways to visibility and real-world application of their work.
Based in Erdos
Our physical home base, located in Erdos, Inner Mongolia, within the BaYin MengKe Educational Development Zone. At its core is a 500-square-meter multimedia hall fully wrapped in LED walls, designed for digital art installations, immersive performances, and interdisciplinary curatorial projects. Surrounding this central space are flexible galleries, development rooms, and open architectural zones, intentionally left unfinished to invite artists and collaborators to reimagine, build, and evolve the site over time. The venue also includes thoughtfully designed living quarters, featuring a state-of-the-art dormitory for educational programs and private apartment units for residency participants, creating a full ecosystem for creation, learning, and exchange within the cultural campus.
a Blank Canvas
We invite artists, architects, and designers to reimagine and transform physical spaces within the BaYin Mengke cultural zone. Proposals may include experimental galleries, modular learning environments, meditative structures, or outdoor installations. Each project contributes to an expanding collection of site-responsive design, offering a contemporary vision of nomadic space-making.
a Digital Tapestry
Digital Tapestry is our flagship program for LED-based art. Centered around a 500-square-meter immersive space wrapped entirely in LED screens, it invites digital artists from around the world to collaborate and create dynamic, screen-based works.
Each year, we launch a curatorial theme and open call, selecting submissions to be exhibited throughout the year. From moving images and generative visuals to sonic environments and spatial storytelling, this is a platform for experimental, global expression.
Nomadic Activations
Nomadic Activations is an
ongoing program of performances, rituals, and cultural interventions held both within the Blank Canvas site and across the broader region. Rooted in Inner Mongolia's living traditions of music, dance, oral storytelling, and ceremony, the program welcomes artists and cultural practitioners to create new forms of engagement.
These activations may appear as intimate gatherings, public events, or collaborative journeys that travel between places and communities.
